Pirate Swordfighter VR

For Leo Burnett's Kids Day 2017, I wanted two experiences: one with AR and one with VR. For VR, I chose to build something with the (then just released) Oculus Touch controllers. It needed to be an experience that older kids could enjoy, but would also appeal to smaller kids. A swordfighting game seemed the best choice (you could win with finesse, but littler ones could also flail their way to victory)
I started with a T-Posed skeleton model and added a bone system for animation. I came up with a system of animations that allowed randomized results based on the body part that were stuck. In addition to attacking, kids could use their left controller to defend with a shield - which would stun the attacker, giving them plenty of time to enjoy the attack animations.
As each Kids Day services a few hundred kids, I put in a timer and a rudimentary scoring system - in case bragging rights were important.
