Coke Arctic Home
Project: Arctic Home Site
Client: Coca-Cola
Role: Developer
Platforms: Web
Technologies: Adobe Flash
In the Fall of 2011, Coca-Cola boldly changed its classic can from red to white--all to promote awareness of polar bear conservation efforts.  Every Coca-Cola product produced also contained a link to ArcticHome.com, Coke's online portal for donations and information.  The site featured a variety of media content, including video testimonials by arctic-based scientists and photo galleries of polar bears and their habitat. The highlight of the site was a 3D arctic environment, where users could explore and learn more.

The 3D portion was built in Adobe Flash.  GPS polar bear migration data (for four bears) was imported into the experience.  Combined with animated 3D polar bear models, the GPS data allowed users to seek out and watch virtual polar bears realistically wandering around their environment.  Also scattered around the environment were information pop-ups.  To further promote users exploring the space, Coke Rewards Points were randomly placed throughout the experience.

An iPad version of the 3D experience (built in Unity) also was produced.
