Project: LeoBurnett.com
Client: Leo Burnett
Role: Developer
Platforms: Web Technology: Adobe Flash (Away3D)
In Summer 2010, Leo Burnett decided to drastically update its global site to be more cinematic and engaging. I was assigned as the lead developer, tasked with creating a highly animated Flash site that pushed visual boundaries.
The highlight of the new design was a 3D representation of the Leo Burnett logo--matching the real-world chrome logo visible in the lobby of Leo Burnett's corporate headquarters in downtown Chicago. Built at a time before Flash was GPU accelerated, this 3D logo was a large undertaking. The final result was a mixture of a simplified 3D model and several 2D animated layers on the logo's face.
During the following year, several updates to the site were made, including a CMS updated news feed and a section showcasing Leo Burnett leaders.
