The goal of the Innovation Station is to showcase the power of Intel processers and highlight the features and functionality of Intel Powered 2-in-1 devices. By partnering with Best Buy, Intel created the Experience Zone - a multi-year platform for engaging content. The first phase of content features the R&B artist Ne-Yo, and the debut track off his upcoming album.
The Station began by Leo Burnett capturing high-resolution footage of Ne-Yo, shot against a green screen. Visual effects were then added by layering on various 4K elements - including video (alpha and on-alpha), rendered 3D layers (stage, crowd, lights, etc.) and dynamic 3D elements (fog, confetti, etc.).
Two 2-in-1 devices communicate wirelessly to the table via a socket connection. The user's interaction with the table is based on the orientation of the 2-in-1 device:
• In laptop mode, the user controls and mixes Ne-Yo's track.
• In tablet mode, the user controls the lights.
• If two users are in the same orientation, one users gets Bonus Mode - with various real-time particle effects and options like "Hype the Crowd".

Originally launched in one Portland, OR location, the Innovation Station was then rolled out to 50 stores nationwide.
